Bike parking:
Note the bike parking rack, and the map of the entire 51-mile long trail..

Crosswalk:
Entering on to the path from Reston City
Showing push-button stops sign, and raised brick on road. On the back left is a parking lot, and across the street a shelter.

Doggie Bag Dispenser:
Reston has leash laws: a dispenser of free doggie bags immediately available. NOTICE the wall, and the apartment complex butting up to the path ! A sign of the potential economic value of paths.

Parking Lot:
Closeup of the parking lot, with seven cars parked.
All these pictures were taken at the moment, not staged. There are bikers in almost every picture, to give a good feel for how much it’s used

Path to Downtown:
Path leading to 51-mile long trail, taken backward towards the downtown business district of Reston, home of the CIA and other national defense agencies. Anyone who argues that Memphis shouldn’t do this for national defense reasons needs to look at this picture a second time.

Closup of the shelter :
Shelters offer a shady spot to take a break and cool off.

Sponsor Sign:
A good way for community support of sections of the trail.

Stretching Post:
An Eagle Boy Scout project. Post is located directly adjacent to the doggie bag dispenser.

The Bike Path/Trail in Reston,Virginia:
This section of the 51-mile long trail uses land under utility easements. There is a horse trail segment on the left.

Trash can:
Very clever ! Just two cement posts on a swivel, for easy emptying into leaf bags by volunteers.
